Welcome to the UP Library Media Center

The purpose of the University Park Elementary School Library and Innovation Lab is to serve and support the students and staff of our school by providing a rich variety of materials to enhance curricular needs and promote a lifelong love of learning.

The library is a popular place for students to enjoy reading as well as a variety of activities offered during lunch on some Fridays where Mrs. Wykert hosts a makerspace club. The Innovation Lab is a where students take their STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) skills to the next level. This collaborative workspace offers sessions on digital citizenship, computer coding and video making (using our green screen). 

The library has a large collection of books available to students and staff for check out. Students love to browse the shelves looking for that special book to read. There are plenty of books in the library to enjoy. From the classics to technology and everything in between, students have access to a world of adventure, an incredible amount of information, and stories that capture their attention and inspire their thinking. Our inventory is constantly being reviewed and additions are made throughout the year.

Our Innovation Lab is equipped with a cart of Chromebooks and a full classroom set of  iPads,  and two LCD projectors.  Students and staff use these resources to collaborate, practice problem-solving techniques and presentation skills, research, form complex analysis and develop a foundation of ethical and responsible use.
