English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)

What is ELAC?
The English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a group of parents, teachers, and staff who work together to support students learning English. Every school with 21 or more English learners must have an ELAC.
The role of ELAC includes:
  • Advising the principal and school staff on programs and services for English learners.
  • Reviewing the school’s plan for student achievement and giving input on how it supports English learners.
  • Helping review attendance and how it affects student success.
  • Learning about ways to support English learners at school and at home.
  • Electing a representative to the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC).
Why join?
ELAC is a place for parents to have a voice in their child’s education, learn how schools support English learners, and connect with other families. Your ideas and feedbac
